What a revenue operations consultant actually does.
Revenue operations, or RevOps, is the work of connecting everything behind your revenue: the CRM, the pipeline, the reporting, the tools and the handoffs between marketing, sales and customer success. A revenue operations consultant makes those pieces work as one, so leadership can see what's really happening and the team spends its time selling.
When I take on RevOps for a company, I start with how deals actually move today, not how the CRM says they move. Then my team rebuilds what's needed: clean pipeline stages, a CRM your reps will use, reporting you can run the business on, and automation that removes busywork.
Systems don't fix sales. But bad systems hide every other problem you have.
CRM and sales operations
Most CRM problems aren't software problems. The stages don't match how the team sells, the fields nobody needs pile up, and the data stops being trusted. As a sales operations consultant, I start with the process, then set up the CRM around it. My team handles the implementation, the data cleanup and the training, and AI tools where they genuinely save time.
Fractional RevOps vs. a full-time hire
A full-time RevOps hire is a good move once your systems are stable and growing. Before that, fractional RevOps gets you the senior thinking and a team that can build, without a full salary. It also means your systems are designed by someone who has led sales, so they're built around revenue, not around the tool.
How it starts
It starts with a free Executive Revenue Review. You answer 20 questions, my team and I look at your business from the outside, and I send you a private review of where your revenue is breaking. If your systems are the problem, we scope the fix together. If the bigger issue is leadership, I can also step in as your fractional sales leader.
